The Journal focuses on studies in higher education and aims to publish research articles that explore higher education from a broad array of academic disciplines, methodologies, and perspectives. Please visit our Focus and Scope section to find out more.
Q: Who can submit an article for WPHES?
Authors from any stage of their career are welcomed for submission, however preference is given to emerging authors, as WPHES intends to provide a space for students, early career researchers, academics and young professionals to present their work in progress to a broad readership and connect with established experts.
Q: How and in what format can I submit an article?
Papers should be submitted to us, in a MS Word document, by email to wphes@wphes-journal.eu
Q: Can I submit an already published article?
WPHES asks for original contributions that have not been published elsewhere.
Q: Should I use the template for submission?
Yes, we suggest to format your manuscript according to the style guidelines of WPHES.
Q: Is there a word limit for papers published in WPHES?
Quality is the most important criteria for the acceptance of a paper, however papers should normally be around 5.000-6.000 words in length (excluding bibliography). Shorter pieces are also welcome.
Q: How long will it take to find out if my paper has been accepted?
It usually takes about 2-4 weeks for the Editors to make a decision.
Q: How many issues of WPHES are published per year?
WPHES aims to be a quarterly publication.
